Langley Farmland Under Attack

Here’s an interesting sequence of events we will be monitoring very closely.

  • July 2008 Township Of Langley informed of farmland abuse at 20617 – 102 B Avenue (farmer dumping concrete and asphalt waste on hay field)
  • Phil Lemay, Engineering, issues a cease and remove order
  • mid-August – “Illegal” barbed wire fencing installed across dike access* in two locations across from 20617 102 B  *section 2 (4) (c)
  • mid-to late August – photo documentation that fill area is increasing in size
  • late August Township of Langley signage installed at either dike end stating “Private Property”
